We can heartily recommend Matthew. We are very happy with both his execution and the outcome of the recent sale of our Hunters Hill home. We were in regular touch with Matthew, who we had known socially for some years, and he had advised us he had a buyer for whom he thought our house would be a perfect match. An apartment that ticked all our boxes came on the market. We gave Matthew a 'heads up' that we would try to buy it at the forthcoming auction, and if we were successful, our Hunters Hill house would be for sale. We had discussed pricing, informed by other agents' estimates and a mortgagee valuation in connection with bridge financing we had arranged. We were successful at the auction for the apartment on a Saturday morning and we were leaving the following day, Sunday, for a pre-committed short holiday in Norfolk Island. I phoned Matthew to tell him the house was now for sale and we agreed on a handshake that if he could find a buyer at an agreed net sale price while we were away in Norfolk Island, on an "as is where is" basis, we would have a deal. We had done nothing at this stage to improve the presentation of the property for a normal marketing campaign. Matthew picked up the keys on our way out the door on Sunday. He showed the house to his prospective buyer on the Monday, and communicating with us by phone in Norfolk Island, we agreed terms, subject to inspections, on the Tuesday. We exchanged contracts with the buyer the following Tuesday - all in only ten days after exchanging contracts at auction on the purchase of our apartment. That has to be some sort of record. And with no pre-sale preparation of any sort on our part. After the exchange Matthew and his people were very helpful in mitigating to some degree the painful process of moving out of a large residence, with thirty five years of accumulated memories and stuff, into a seriously downsized apartment.
