I have known Gary Walton for over 15 years from attending Auctions in the Carnegie area. In 2013, Gary sold my Holywood Grove property prior to Auction and I was most pleased with his efforts and the result. Next, I had to sell my Mothers Clayton property after her death so I rang Gary for a Clayton sale opinion. Much to my surprise, he was happy to take the job on. He had to research this area - a far cry from upmarket Carnegie. He advised a high chance of demolishion but also a possible rental possiblity. This then gave me a plan of attack to get the house on the Market as early as possible during the Spring selling season of 2015. My end choice was for a vacant possession sale so the house was emptied by a Deceased Estate company and the over- grown garden well sorted by a gardener. Based on Gary's suggestions, little else was done - just a clean, vacant house requiring minor repairs. No new kitchens or bathrooms or new paintwork. The real dollar value here was the land and keen Chinese buyers. This approach, based on Gary's advice, saved me a great deal of work and money, not to mention stress. Auction Day arrived and was conducted by Mark Staples. I have watched and listened to many of his Carnegie Auctions and the results were always most impressive. The opening bid was $750,000 and rose to an end sale of $954,000 !!! Even Gary was surprised at the end result - his research and advice really paid off. I was delighted with the end result. Through the whole, but rather short selling campaign, Gary kept me well informed of the progress and his advice was invaluable. Cheers - Robin Raudonikis.
