The first step to building visibility and trust online using FREE Google tools

I cannot stress enough the importance of having an active, updated Google My Business profile.

The majority of traffic to any website across the world is driven by Google. In Australia Google has 94% of the search eyeballs¹ – when Aussies search online, they use Google.

What about traffic to your website, where does it come from? The answer is organic and paid search.

The term “organic traffic” is used for referring to the visitors that land on your website as a result of unpaid (“organic”) search results. Organic traffic is the opposite of paid traffic, which defines the visits generated by paid ads. Visitors who are considered organic find your website after using a search engine like Google or Bing, so they are not “referred” by any other website.

When a person decides to buy or sell a property they’ll most likely begin their search with Google. They will search your name and/or your business name to find more information that can help them understand if you’re the right agent to sell their home.

What can you do right now to build visibility and trust on Google?

There are many ways you can promote yourselves efficiently, effectively and for free.

Google My Business is just one of those ways to improve your visibility and credibility and get vendors and buyers to connect with you.

You and/or your business can have its own Google My Business profile on Google, which will appear when your name or business name is searched on Google. More importantly, your Google My Business profile will appear in search results such as “real estate agents near me” or “best real estate agent in [insert suburb here]”. Google calls these types of searches ‘local search’ and in most cases a map will appear in the search results. If you click that map it will take you to what they call the ‘Local Finder’ page.

Not to mention, your Google My Business reviews provide credibility and trust for prospective clients and now you can also bring your RateMyAgent reviews over with our recent integration with Google My Business.

Your Google My Business profile is publicly accessible at 3 locations:

I cannot stress enough the importance of having an active, updated Google My Business profile. It will improve your ranking in Google search results and make your business, your brand, more attractive to your markets.
