It's been a week now since I officially purchased my first ever home, and now that the first homeowner dust has "settled"; I felt compelled to write a review for Peter Gomm and Katrina Perin over at Gomm finance for their top-notch work and advice they provided me throughout this process. My partner and I had been looking for our first home for about 4 months and we weren't serious. Our mind set was to get aligned on the locations we liked, the style we could tolerate and of course, for the price we could afford; our sole intention was that buying a home was going be next year's problem. One Thursday evening, my partner haphazardly invited me to a home open after work. It was a quirky loft apartment in a hidden gem part of town built in the early 2000s; we loved it. I had no pre-approval, no plan and no idea. A quick call to my parent's financial advisor soon put me in touch with Peter Gomm from Gomm finance. Not knowing me from a bar of soap, he quickly scheduled 15mins aside that day to get to know me, my situation and the property I was interested in. I was quickly impressed with his local knowledge of the property market and of course, the banks. After that phone call I was in a position to make a real offer. I scheduled a time with the real-estate agent to make a "real" offer the very next day, which turned out to be the first and only offer; the sellers wanted a quick sale and my offer was accepted that night! From there, he handed me over to the fantastic Katrina, who moved mountains for me when lodging my application to the bank, I cannot thank her enough for the level of communication and enthusiasm she brings to Gomm Finance.
