There are two kinds of Burnie blocks. The kind where you look at the neighbour's carport, and this one.
3,637 square metres above Emu Bay, facing the Port of Burnie, with bushland in between and Round Hill off to the south-east. Almost an acre. You will spend the first six months standing on it doing nothing, and you will call that a hobby.
The port is better entertainment than most television. Ships arrive, ships leave, cranes do their thing, and you will develop opinions about all of it. The sun comes up over the water, which means the morning coffee has a job now.
For a spot that feels this removed, the practical stuff is surprisingly close. Montello Primary and the bus are a walk, not a drive, so the school run happens in slippers. The centre of Burnie is a few minutes away, with the shops, the waterfront restaurants and the cinema.
Burnie Airport is 24 minutes along one of the better coast roads in the state, which is useful for visitors and less useful for you, because you will stop wanting to leave.
The boring work has been started. Driveway apron in. Fully fenced. A few trees to come out, not a plantation.
Zoned General Residential. Build the house and keep the yard or look at splitting it and talk to council first (STCA).
