Fairweather. It was at one point a thriving and productive enterprise and was considered to be a medium sized mine of the day. There is flat land in the bottom of the valley which is part of the road easement held by a 99 year lease. There is an old house site scarfed in next to the opening of the mine. During the early 90s the Mt Markey Winery was built on the main road at the bottom of the valley close to where Jacks Road meets Cassilis Road.
