It's so peaceful and you feel like you are a million miles away from civilisation. The kids have a ball swimming in the creek, exploring the bush and spotting wombats, wallabies and deer. At night we all sit around the fire and make damper and toast marshmallows. It's been a great place for kids' birthday parties and camp outs and weekends away with family and friends."
The smart new studio is 25 square metres in area including a five square metre outdoor covered area. The studio is fully insulated, with timber floorboards, a composting toilet, tank water connected and a gas-powered outdoor shower. Gas lighting, a gas fridge and gas stove could be added for some extra creature comforts. Subject to council approval, another 20 square metre studio could be constructed. Another option would be to add a caravan or other portable accommodation to the site.
"About 10 acres of the property are cleared, with the remainder natural rainforest with many native red and white cedar trees," say the owners. "There are several swimming holes in the creek and glow worms on the banks that look quite magical at night. There are lovely walking tracks through the rainforest and we love to walk to Drawing Room Rocks for the fantastic views. We're also close to Kangaroo Valley and Berry so it's easy to duck out for a swim in the Kangaroo River and lunch at the pub or into Berry for a good coffee.
"After dark, the sound of the creek and mopokes calling is really soothing. We've loved our time here - it's been a fantastic place to get away from it all and just sit back and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings."
