Greedy agent

I purchased a property last year through Barry Plant and unfortunately had a very poor experience with the agent, Kevin Tung Ho. After settlement, I politely requested that all interior photos of my home be removed from Domain, Realestate.com.au, and the Barry Plant website. Kevin refused, stating that because the vendor paid for the advertising, he could not remove the photos. This explanation made no sense — the property had been sold, ownership had transferred, and the commission had already been paid. It was no longer his listing or his responsibility to keep marketing material online. As a result, I had to personally contact Domain and Realestate.com.au to request removal. Surprisingly, both platforms told me they still needed the agent’s consent to take the photos down, which was extremely frustrating. The situation became even more unreasonable when I asked Kevin to remove a video of my property that he had posted on his Facebook page. He attempted to make me pay him in order to remove the video, claiming it would be a financial loss for him and lecturing me about how “business works.” This was completely inappropriate — the purpose of the video had already been fulfilled, as the house was sold. Eventually, the video was deleted, possibly after he sought advice elsewhere. What makes this more disappointing is that when I contacted another real estate agency (Professional Real Estate) regarding a similar request, they removed the video immediately with no questions asked. Now, five months after settlement, interior photos of my home are still visible on Kevin’s Facebook page. Overall, this experience showed a lack of professionalism, respect, and understanding of boundaries. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding Kevin Tung Ho and considering other agents instead.
