Beautiful Off-Grid Acreage with Stone Cottage

Nestled near the historic town of Chewton and just minutes from vibrant Castlemaine, this rare 10.6-acre (approximately) off-grid sanctuary offers privacy, character and lifestyle on a scale that's increasingly hard to find. Set amongst the famous old gold diggings with breathtaking natural surrounds, this unique property combines rustic charm with modern self-sufficiency. The beautifully positioned brick and cedar two-bedroom residence enjoys a stunning outlook across the landscape, creating a peaceful retreat where nature and tranquillity take centre stage. Completely off the grid, the property delivers independence without sacrificing comfort, while the substantial six-car shed provides exceptional space for trades, collectors, caravans, workshops or creative pursuits. Adding even greater appeal is the separate stone cottage, full of historic character but with modern comforts including a kitchenette and bathroom and offering exciting potential for guest accommodation, Airbnb income, artist retreats or multigenerational living (STCA). Hidden away in absolute privacy, yet only moments from Castlemaine's cafés, galleries and rail connections to Melbourne, this is a lifestyle opportunity rich in atmosphere, history and potential. Features include: > Fully renovated two-bedroom main residence > Separate character-filled, fully self-contained stone cottage with income potential > Low-cost off-grid living > Massive six-car colourbond shed/workshop > Beautiful elevated bush outlook > Absolute privacy in a peaceful bush setting > Located amongst historic goldfields and old diggings > Only minutes (drive) to the local swimming hole, Expedition Pass Reservoir 10 Minutes to Castlemaine and the train link to Melbourne A truly unique offering where history, sustainability and lifestyle come together in one hard-to-find and remarkable property.
