Capel Vale was founded in 1974 by Dr Peter Pratten, one of the early pioneers of the Western Australia wine industry. The winemaking philosophy is to make intensely fruit driven, complex, powerful, yet elegant wines, from the best regions in Western Australia. The business is 100% family owned since 1974.
Capel Vale is highly accoladed, and features national distribution, including overseas markets in Europe, Asia and America.
Capel Vale Winery is situated in the cool climate Geographe region of South West WA, with 3 vineyards producing complex, powerful and yet elegant wines from the best regions in WA.
118 Mallokup Road features a total planted area of 6.04 hectares, including Malbec, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Merlot, with secure water for irrigation. The Geographe region enjoys a mild climate with strong Mediterranean influence with warm summer days, cool sea breezes and cool nights.
