Core Realty NT
I spent around four months looking for a property in Darwin and Core Realty NT stood out as a cut above many of the other agencies I dealt with. The application and leasing process was genuinely excellent — professional, responsive and very well handled — and I felt confident I was dealing with a good agency. Since moving in, the experience has been a little more mixed. There were a number of electrical and appliance issues that pre-dated my tenancy and ideally would have been identified and addressed before I moved in. I have also needed to follow up emails or chase progress on maintenance matters. The contractors themselves have generally been very helpful, but arranging access has meant time away off work for issues that existed before my tenancy began. The alternative was for tradespeople to collect agency keys and attend independently, whereas I would personally feel more comfortable with the agency coordinating or supervising access where possible, particularly for pre-existing issues. One area that definitely needs attention is the review-request system. I received around seven emails asking me to leave a review. On two occasions I selected “No thanks, don’t remind me”, received confirmation that I had unsubscribed, and then continued to receive further reminders a couple of days later. Despite unsubscribing twice and receiving confirmation each time, the reminders continued. After around seven requests, I ultimately decided to submit the review. Core may not control every aspect of the RateMyAgent system, but it is something they should address. That said, I still regard Core Realty NT as a very good agency and considerably more professional than many I encountered during my property search. My comments are intended as constructive feedback — the initial leasing experience set a very high standard, and I would simply like to see that same level of communication and coordination continue throughout the tenancy.
