What's around 21 Sheoak Road

Timeless Elegance Infused With Contemporary Style in a Most Coveted Locale

Of Aboriginal origins, Nunkerri translates as either beautiful place or beautiful view, both apt descriptions for a magical property sited on a large flat block offering panoramas of a glistening seascape and sparkling city skyline. Ideally situated atop a terraced ridge and nestled privately amongst enveloping greenery alive with rainbow lorikeets and cockatoos is a residence of important local heritage brimming with character-laden features blended seamlessly with 21st Century standards of design and appointment and offering the utmost in classic living re-imagined in a luxurious modern context. The double frontage block is entered via electric gates to a classical return gravel drive framed by lush manicured lawns and meticulously maintained hedging complemented by handcrafted stone walls exuding character and farmhouse charm. Upon entry to the breath-taking 1901 return verandah sandstone villa, one is immediately drawn by the easy flow of the layout, having 4 bedrooms + study nook and 2.5 bathrooms. Each room is spacious and bright and permits green vistas across the landscaped gardens. The current custodians of the home have opened the property up via extensive renovations to have a beautiful almost infinite appearance and feel. Boasting an open plan north-facing rear section, the living is centred around the intimate heart of the home, a stylish Jag Kitchen which is complete with Miele appliances and extensive Caesarstone island benchtops. Beyond the central kitchen island and the large formal dining room space, French doors open onto the expansive rear verandah ideal for all weather entertaining and for immersing oneself in an idyllic Adelaide Hills' environment with shimmering daytime views of the aquamarine coast and awe inspiring night time sunset vistas enhanced by twinkling CBD lights. A rare inclusion to this historic property, belonging once to Nobel Prize Winner for the invention of Penicillin Sir Howard Florey, is a 2 room cellar complete with bar that is the perfect place to spend time with family and friends. There is ample storage for a wine collection and is a unique setting for an intimate dinner party. Representing the very best of an architectural past, a luxurious present and a cool-climate future 21 Sheoak Road is located only 20 minutes from the CBD, a short drive to Scotch and Mercedes College, St. John's Grammar and 500m from epicurean delights, trendy cafes and the green lifestyle supported by the Adelaide Hills.

Grant Has No Equal - He's The Best Of The Best

I couldn't be more happy with Sotheby's. Grant was our Agent and he was assisted by Ross. The communication is like nothing I have ever experienced. Our home had intense interest immediately it went live and was the 2nd most viewed property in Australia in the first week of marketing. I have dealt with many Agents over the years and the boys from Sotheby's have no equal in my opinion. Our home sold and settled within 8 weeks of listing and was handled in the most meticulous way. We couldn't believe that a service like this even existed. Our home deserved a record price and Grant delivered! The real stand out for us is that they are all about the home. They know their place and don't use your marketing budget to build their personal profile. This is unheard of in Adelaide Real Estate and it's a refreshing change. Our home was extremely unique and a summer home with great historical significance. It was a niche sale and we did not want open inspections. We had very few, but highly qualified buyers view our home and our expectations were exceeded at every turn. Nothing was too much trouble and we are not easily impressed. Our online presence and video was fabulous and they managed to get us mentioned in The Australian and a near full page story with The Advertiser. All of this with no opens, no signboard, and no additional charge. Our property had massive views and exposure in a short space of time. There is no doubt that the Sotheby's branding attracted buyers that were a substantial cut above. Our home sold cash unconditional to wonderful buyers that loved the home as much as us. It made our Interstate move so much easier. They were also completely confidential, something that was hugely important to us. Sotheby's is worth every cent and I can't recommend Grant and Ross or their service highly enough.
