A Newell Platten design with a client brief that called for mid-century modern, crafted in 1960 with a deep understanding of nature's rhythm, this home was built to breathe, welcoming light, capturing breezes, and nestling into the contours of the land as though it had always been there. It's one of South Australia's first solar passive homes, but you won't need to know the science to feel how effortlessly it holds the seasons. In 2012, a respectful and refined renovation by protege of Newell Platten, expanded and elevated the home while honouring its mid-century soul. The result is a seamless fu
