The original cellar door was opened in 1988 with just two wines, a Shiraz and a Chardonnay. Now grapes grown on the 21Ha vineyard include Shiraz, Cab Sauvignon, Mataro and Grenache with some of the vines in excess of 100 years old.
Wine is only produced from grapes grown on the property and so the quantities available for sale each year is determined by the season. The original parcel of land fronted both Radford Road to the north and Seppeltsfield Road to the west. The original stone home and outbuildings date from 1850 to 1900.
The current owners rebuilt the four-bedroom, four-bathroom residence into a substantial and attractive homestead which incorporates a well-equipped country style kitchen, a huge open dining/living area and two underground cellars, separate outside ornate barbecue, large swimming pool, courtyards and extensive shedding.
The estate is situated on ten titles and besides the main homestead, there are four other residences. Greenock Creek wines control the whole production process from growing the fruit, to processing the wine. The modern winery is fully operational and is set up to process up to 150 tonnes.
