â–¶Shane is a charming, personable, convincing Agent. He certainly can talk the talk, but falls short when it comes to walking the talk! Our property was slightly unusual given that it required 3 of his team to be present during inspections. The apartment included two dedicated, LARGE storerooms located on a separate level from our 2 storey apartment. You just don't get storerooms in an apartment block like we had. Right upfront we stressed the value of these and requested that Shane have 3 people attend all showings. Yes, yes, yes, he said. No, this never happened. Shane continually said that buyers saw potential well below our asking price. No wonder, they never saw the storerooms. Not even the successful buyer saw the storerooms until after they bought our place. Faces lit up when they realised the bonus in their purchase. Shane has a fire in his belly, but lacks experience and follow through. He didn't negotiate during the auction, his colleague did - which was a surprise arrival. No advance notice and Shane really didn't undertake the negotiation. Shane didn't invest our deposit as requested and then gave us a story about staff changes in their accounts department. We checked, they don't have one. Finally, his office rang our lawyer to check the split of the interest on the deposit (4 month settlement period) - which we insisted they pay us. Surely, any agent should know what this is - or look it up in the contract! We expressed our concerns post sale via email and didn't hear from him. In the end, "sorry for the delay...I simply forgot to write back." Who does that? Overall, too casual and a hit and miss approach to selling property, which resulted in a lack of professionalism. In the end, we sold - but we will never know how much more we could have had if Shane had followed through on several key points.
