House
•We were set to move in on 4 February, but received no communication or proper handover to the property manager until a week after we moved in. This is an issue because the previous tenant had a dog that has left a lingering odour in the property. I messaged this agent on the day of moving in about the issue, replying to an email confirming contract signing. No response received. Once I did know the property manager, I forwarded the same message on to them stating the issue is beyond reasonable. My wife also issued a job request to them 2 days prior explaining the situation. This morning I got a response informing me that the previous tenant provided receipts for the carpet clean. I suppose this pm believes that’s the job done. No further issues. Due to the lack of response I trialed a clean at the weekend and uncovered almost black water out of the carpets and to no surprise, the smell has reduced significantly in those areas. This cost me time and money on top of the recent move in costs. The house is also ridden with cockroaches, and the condition report was woefully incorrect (stating things were in good order when they are clearly broken). If you’re a landlord, beware. They will not look after your property. If you are a tenant, beware. They will not look out for you or your family.
