Best outcomes come with selection of the ‘right agent’

I got a real taste of the real estate market in my early 20s buying my 1st property in Singapore. The real estate market unlike in Australia requires you to be self reliant on your own market research and laws. Property market is a lot more competitive in Australia and your relationship with the agent is paramount to your success and their reputation. We have over the last few decades bought and sold number of properties in Australia both residential and investment. Common denominator behind the success and lack thereof has been the ‘agent’. To a lot of people the driver behind selecting the agent is cost. To us it has always been about the agent and the agency. We look for these three ingredients, 1- authenticity, how true are they to their word; 2- knowledge, how much grasp do they have of the market and changing conditions; and 3- negotiator, can they close the deal and not let it slide. When we first met Will back in 2021 first as a buyer and recently as a seller, he not only showcased exuberance and professionalism towards his job that is such a rare quality in this industry far removed from the typical image imprinted in our minds of someone in a tacky suit and tie combo with insidious prevalence of underquoting. Will was instrumental in our both purchasing and selling decision. This is not the end but beginning of a strong partnership with Will and his agency as Adrian and I look for venture opportunity deals with the Carrs.
