Unit
•When I first viewed the property, I asked if there were any water leaks in the garage (as I use it as storage). Agent said, NO. No floorplan. I paid my bond & first weeks rent, got the keys & went to view the unit before moving in, which also had "huge storage" in the description on the agent's site. Another reason for me to get the unit. It was raining when I arrived. I went into the bathroom: the plunger plug in the basin was stuck open and the ceramic top came away in my hand. The plunger in the bath would not stay down. On the deck 2 campchairs were (left behind?) by the aircon unit (which remote did not work). In one of the chairs a possum had made its home. Hence, chairs left behind? I then went to see the lower ground floor storage. Three doors, 1 marked 'Storage Unit #*', not my unit, the other doors blank. Researching the sale of this unit the storage is 4m x 4m. Huge, great. No keys worked for the blank doors. The agent sent around a locksmith, great service on that front. Opening the first door, it came away at the hinges and was full of items and only 1.5m x 2m. The agent said this was the owners belongings and there was NO STORAGE with the unit. (Violation of Trades Descriptions Act?). I said this was not the storage in the floorplan. The locksmith then opened door 3 with difficulty as it was jammed in the frame. Yes 4 x4, but full of items & 50% of the floor space was a huge rock (foundations) & leaking water. Again, owners belongings. Then the 'dry' garage. The drain outside the garage was blocked and flooded. When I entered to switch on the light I was ankle deep in water with a waterfall in the far corner. Apparantely the agent knew about this from flooding 3 months previously and did NOT disclose this to me. I was to move in 3 days. I did NOT. The agent made no effort to help me find other accommodation except to say, if I found anything on their site I could apply for it! In my opinion: abysmal service, no accountability, deceptive conduct.
