Beware Of This Agent

This agent advertised and sold us a home as being 5 bedrooms when in fact there were only 2 legal height bedrooms. We trusted her advertising and marketing to be correct when much of it was fabricated with no honest disclosures on major property issues. We were unable to view the property so we thought we could trust the advertising, but we were very wrong. This home was actually just a 2 -bedroom home with a divided sunroom with lower height rooms that she passed off as extra bedrooms in her advertising. It seems there are little laws governing the advertising methods used by agents in QLD. OFT were useless. There were no honest disclosures on her part knowing we were unable to view the home. There was no legal height or useful laundry, leaking showers, toilets, pipes, suspect renovation work, rubbish left all around the home, asbestos throughout the home. No windows in the lounge or dining rooms but they were advertised as being light filled. There simply were no honest disclosures on important matters that affect your quality of life. A very noisy road. She tried to cover her tracks by adding extra suspect disclaimers to put any blame for her use of false advertising back on to buyers. Basically, saying you need to check all her suspect marketing. Not everyone is in a position to view a property if they are a long distance away and they should be able to trust the agents they deal with for the cost of homes these days. There was no trusting this agent. The photos used were enhanced beyond reality and the property description was the same. We were totally scammed by this agent and her service was totally unprofessional. She never even bothered to show up at the home to see us in person after the sale. She obviously knew she ripped us off and was too ashamed to show her face. This agent can’t be trusted under any circumstances as per our personal experience. Agents like this shouldn't be allowed to operate like this, but it seems anything goes in QLD
