For diversification I asked Tom to find me an apartment and a house in the M1 corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, as I saw the potential for sharp capital growth in that area. There was no spin, no issue too big or small for Tom to sort it all out for me, and I believe both vendors were also happy with the results. After settlement, I handed both properties over to Tom's team to manage. Decent tenants with strong references were found quickly, with no fuss, and with 7+% and 5+% gross rental returns on properties that are now quickly appreciating in value. While the purchase price was around what I expected, the rental returns are impressive. Tom has stayed in touch, not to try to push me into further purchases but simply to make sure I am happy with the ongoing management. I now consider Tom to be a friend, and I would not buy another property in Queensland without talking to Tom first.
