•Our selling experience of our elderly mother’s house became complicated when a building inspection revealed pest damage. As a certain selling price was required to secure aged care for our mother, and this price was in no way guaranteed, the family had to lean heavily on Alan for guidance. In all matters, during a quite uncertain time, Alan kept us fully informed of options and allayed concerns through his evident competence and empathy. We increasingly felt that we were in ‘good hands’ during this period and certainly helped us have confidence that we would arrive at a satisfactory outcome.
