Look closely and the history reveals itself. The double front doors once welcomed visitors to the original Kyneton Guardian office in Mollison Street. Recycled timber flooring came from a former Spotswood warehouse. Massive posts and beams were salvaged from the old Docklands wharf precinct, railway bridges near Orange and Dubbo, the historic Langley Bridge and even the Arbuthnot Sawmills at Echuca Wharf. Overhead, Canadian Oregon rafters and a remarkable Oregon ridge beam running almost the length of the home add to its unmistakable character.
Inside, soaring ceilings crown the expansive living and meals area, creating a wonderfully warm and atmospheric heart to the home. A functional kitchen with walk-in pantry sits alongside one ground-floor bedroom, family bathroom, laundry, separate WC and a small home office. Upstairs, two further bedrooms provide charming accommodation beneath the dramatic roofline. Outside feels equally magical. Established trees and gardens envelop the home, with hot houses, garden spaces and a magnificent oak grown from an acorn collected at Kyneton Racecourse.
