Victorian Acadamic Classical style Bungoona

This property is one of Narrandera most historic and picturesque buildings and is a substantial building in the facade of Narrandera's Main street. A local historic building Bungoona is a well preserved Victorian building that still contains much of its original features. Bungoona is currently tenanted on a very vendor friendly leasee by great long term tenants in the Bungoona Medical Clinic currently one year into a three year lease with the option to extend for a further two x three year increments with yearly rental increases receiving a 6+ % return on investment at list price. Bungoona's History In the year 1877 the Australian Joint Stock Bank decided to erect a building in Narrandera. The Architect was the well renowned Benjamin Backhouse and the building was completed in 1883. Initially it was a single story but was quickly converted to a double storey. It became the Australian Bank of Commerce from 1910 until 1931 when the bank of New South Wales took over. During World War 2 the Bank of New South Wales moved and it was tenanted as a boarding house which had 26 residents. After the war it was converted to its present day format and named Bungoona The Building is stuccoed brick with hipped slate roof with lead ridge capping's and valleys. The walls of the building are of 15 thickness. The design is a simplified Victorian Acadamic Classical style. All joinery is of cedar and the ceilings are high, the balconies are all finished with wrought iron. Bungoona Features In the commercial section downstairs inside the front door there is a sallante-chamer with sand blasted glass and timber doors. The cut glass handles and touch plates are a special feature on the doors. There is a large strongroom with many signatures and dates on the door the earliest being 1888. Downstairs features the medical centre with floating timber flooring and freshly painted throughout this consists of a waiting room, three doctors rooms, pathology room and bathroom Upstairs is not currently being used by the medical centre and could be easily converted into two apartments the main features are the red cedar carved balusters. All architraves, window surrounds and skirting boards are of carved cedar. Three of the fire place surround is of carved marble. The upstairs area on the left is the main lounge room, kitchenette with outside balcony, sunroom/sitting room, bathroom, toilet and guest bedroom + dressing room. On the right is a hall leading to the main bathroom, dressing room, bedroom, main kitchen and dining room. The rumpus room leads off the dining room, bar area and through to the main balcony. At the rear of the building is a well maintained yard, huge garage and still standing are the original stables. This is an investment you don't want to miss out on, we highly recommend you view this well presented unique Victorian building, once you see inside you will know why.
