We have rented with R&H for 2 years & for the most part, felt our experience with the agency was disappointing to say the least. It seemed that there was little communication between employees, with several occasions of contact going to the wrong party or not at all. The automated SimpleRent system let us down several times, and the 3 monthly inspections were invasive and unnecessary I believe - being that our Landlord regularly "dropped by" unannounced & knew the house was well looked after. During covid it was extremely frustrating that our agent did not advocate for us at all, considering both myself & my partner found ourselves suddenly unemployed. The resulting decrease in rent was not even worth considering. Emails at times were condescending and without ANY compassion - leaving us feeling that we had NO rights, and little respect as tenants. When my partner and I separated towards the end of the tenancy (just before renewal) - DESPITE the extenuating circumstances, I was not allowed off the lease, but instead sent an extensive list of my ongoing obligations. Our ongoing lease agreement was instantly terminated, leaving myself, my two young daughters and my ex partner effectively homeless without care. To add to the careless treatment of us as tenants, we were sent this survey with the comments of "Congratulations on finding your rental through R&H" - when in fact, we had LOST our home, through R&H. When we moved to the property 2 years ago, the initial inspection was carried out while the current tenant was packing. The house was a mess, and there was a dog inside & hair everywhere. During OUR tenancy we were strictly informed that our dogs were to not be on the porch, OR in the garage, but that we should erect an enclosure for them, at our cost - when there wasn't adequate fencing on the property, yet dogs were permitted. I only feel free to write this without repercussion because I will never rent or consider buying through R&H.
