•Our moving-in experience was unfortunately quite poor, despite an initially positive impression. During the viewing, The agent was professional and friendly, and we were hopeful this could be our new home. We specifically inquired about smoking neighbors, as this was the primary reason we were moving out of our previous place. She consulted the owner, who mentioned that while there might be someone smoking four units, the smoke wasn’t obvious inside the house. Throughout the leasing process, we had a few questions about rent payment options, only to be referred to Google for answers. On moving day, we were disappointed to find that the house was not as clean as expected. We had to spend a significant amount of time and effort cleaning floors, walls, and cupboards ourselves. This was especially difficult, given that we were moving with a 12-month-old child and we were recovering from pneumonia at the time. To make matters worse, the smoking issue we were promised wouldn’t be a problem became evident from the first day. It was exactly what we were hoping to avoid, and despite raising the concern, nothing has been done to address it. What happened during the process? We also requested a key for the main door and for the intercom to be functional—reasonable requests, we thought—but each time we communicated these, it felt like we were being a burden. Even now, these issues remain unresolved. When I see the Ray White yellow sign now, it no longer brings a sense of reassurance or professionalism. Instead, it reminds me of a deeply disappointing experience.
