•We interviewed four agents and Adam was the standout - so we had high expectations. A couple of days after we signed the agreement with Adam, before any marketing, photography or styling had started, a neighbour approached us directly and offered an amount we were happy with. We called Adam, passed on the offer, and asked for some consideration on the commission as we brought the buyer to him before he had kicked off. I don’t know what is standard in these situations so just asked the question. He said it was our bad luck and we would not be getting any consideration at all, and he made clear that we were locked in with no options. It was in the contract so we didn’t argue - but Adam was not professional and it put everyone on edge for the rest of the sales process. The neighbours did not have their finance finalised and so we went to market and Adam held a couple of open inspections. In the end we sold to them for the price they originally offered. Adam found someone willing to offer slightly more but we honoured the original handshake agreement. I realise it was a tricky situation for Adam but we were open, communicated clearly and acted in good faith. Adam was not engaged and we didn’t feel well represented or that he had our best interests at heart. It gives me no pleasure to write a poor review - but this really put a sour note on what should have been a happy time. The rest of the team at Stone Manly were great to work with - communication from the team was great and the work was high quality.
