History
Kangiara was an important mining site and settlement in the period of 1903-14. It was an active community with strong neighbouring communities such as Tangmangaroo. The former Cocks Store and adjoining house is significant as one of the few surviving buildings from the Kangiara mining settlement. While Pennings House has been restored some aspects of its construction suggest that it dates back from an earlier period.
