Having recently bought a house where Alan was the main selling agent I can say that from the very beginning of the process Alan struck me as a very straightforward and down to earth agent. Having had previous experiences of agents who've tried pressure tactics or just generally not been nice to deal with, this was a breath of fresh air. He made a specific effort to explain the details of the buying process (as this was my first home) and was a good communicator throughout the process.
