When the property down the road sold for more than I had expected, I decided to contact the agents. Alison answered the call and came to see us almost immediately, which was really good considering that we actually live an hour away from the house to be sold. She came across as knowledgable, honest and personable, and this proved to be the case. The anticipated sale price was $50,000 more than other agents had quoted and I was a bit sceptical but decided to give it a go. From the outset, Alison was in contact after every inspection, giving feedback from those who had been through the house. At first I was a bit annoyed because many of the downsides of the property were ones I had pointed out myself (proximity to road, one bathroom, thirty-year-old untouched house, no garage and so forth) but at least the feedback was honest. Some weeks after the sale, she dropped past our house in St Kilda with the gift of a book of photos of my mother's house, all the more touching since this was a deceased estate.
