When buying this place i brought up a few concerns i had about the property! Things i wanted fixed and questions i had asked. I was told " Don't worry about all that stuff! That's the reason we have an inspection a week before settlement" She then talked us into believing that the reason for the inspection a week before is to ensure that these things would be brought to the attention of the vendors and be rectified! She knew full well that if we hadn't written it into to the contract of sale, nothing had to be fixed and she played that fact to the tee!!! Being first home buyers, yep! We where sucked in! So NONE of the things i had requested was fixed! So on settlement day we discovered the back sliding door wouldn't close properly and couldn't even be locked! No key for the door! Now i also know why the front security door was always propped open, because the handle inside the door didn't work! once the door closed you are locked in! Of course the remote garage door didn't work which I originally brought up when signing the contracts and again at the pre settlement inspection. I asked her and the vendor about any problems with the pool at the pre settlement inspection!? I actually asked if it lost water! Was told "no problems"! Guess what! The pool leaks!!! The pool lost an inch of water the first 2 days we where thee with pump filter running, over a 4 day period it dropped well below operating level for filter and had to be topped up! So they 100% knew it was leaking! Had pool company here and guess what!? It will end up costing us thousands of dollars to fix! The property wasn't even compliant in the pool regulations and fencing and self closing doors! The 2 "self closing doors" didn't close properly let alone auto latch lock, one of them didn't even self close! I actually showed them these things not working! We learned the hard way, so i am warning anyone and everyone so you don't get caught out like us! It's not a nice experience with your first home buy!
