Unfortunately our experience as buyers with Andrea as the owners agent was sub optimal. Once we agreed on a purchase price, Andrea made it very clear to us that she was working for the buyer and his preferences, not us. Andrea was not honest with us and kept changing stories about what was and wasn't required/acceptable and certainly. As we are in the ACT and the property we purchased is in QLD we needed to trust what she was telling us about the property. I asked about any water damage to which she told me there was none. The building inspection showed significant, visible water damage to the ensuite. The straw that broke the camels back for us was when we asked her a week prior to settlement, to gain permission from the owner to use the selling property photos. She told us the photos belonged to the photographer and if we used her recommended property manager, she was friends with the photographer and might be able to work something. We then asked her to seek the photos from the photographer. I received no further response. I sent 2 text messages requesting the photographers information, both were ignored. In the meantime as we were shopping for property managers, we were told by all of them that they use sellers photos regularly and they are easily downloaded from the website. I insisted we do the right thing by the photographer and see permission and if necessary pay a small fee for the use of the photos. We were given the run around with the photographer and she would not let me know who it was, finally we received the settlement information which included a stern..."The owner does not give permission for the photos to be used for leasing." The owner had not been asked the week before when we requested. After much unnecessary backwards and forwards and alot of upset on both the owners and our parts, that could have easily been avoided if Andrea had been forthcoming and not behaved in a petty manner, we ended up paying for half the fee of the photos.
