It was a welcome relief to meet Andrew during the purchase of my first property. He was instantly easy to speak to and didn't push and prod and make me feel uncomfortable like a lot of agents have such a knack for. Instead, he speedily followed up on all the information I asked for, put up with just about every member of my immediate family who wanted to go and see the property before the auction (with or without me), and he seemed genuinely interested in making sure that I was happy with my prospective purchase. I was also in an embarrassing state of shock after winning the auction and he was incredibly understanding and didn't rush me at all, even though I'm sure he had other places to be! It sounds unimportant in the scheme of things, but dealing with someone who was open, honest, and professional but still personable in the lead up to the auction... it really made a difference on the day when making my final decision. It definitely helped alleviate any doubts I had before placing that first bid, and just made the purchase feel right.

{[[Yes - following the successful sale of my property on May 15th, I had agreed to provide a rating for Andrew, but had said I couldn’t do it immediately as I was just too busy working in WA; I had said I could do it the following week but in fact I spent all yesterday (Monday) on planes between rural WA and rural NSW]]} Today I can tell you that he was excellent. I had had hardly any contacts in Melbourne, but Andrew was recommended to me by a Melbourne based para-legal. This was inspired advice. Although I had bought and sold a few properties in my life I had had no experience of auctions. Andrew was attentive, approachable, patient and helpful from beginning to end. Even though we never met - all our business was done either by phone or email - I always felt that he was keeping me ‘in the loop.’ He made several suggestions pre-auction that involved a pre-auction day outlay. I followed his advice and believe that it was rewarded at auction time. If I were to be buying or selling in Melbourne again (unlikely, but.....) I would certainly start by asking his advice.
