With plans and permits approved Andrew was able to negotiate a great result for our property. Andrew used his network of contacts to broaden the pool of potential buyers and with the help of Luke Bartholomew closed the deal. I must begin by saying that after interviewing several agents from different agencies, I came to the conclusion that the Real Estate sector is intrinsically unethical, bordering upon fraudulent, takes advantage of unsuspecting vendors, and warrants an immediate State Goverment inquiry or Royal Commission. I will be writing to the appropriate Ministers calling for such scrutiny. However, I have to say that I believe Andrew acted with integrity and supported / guided us thoughtfully and sensitively through a process that is very complicated; especially to the uninitiated. I trusted Andrew, because I both wanted and needed to trust him. He was entrusted with handling the biggest transaction of our life. Because so much happens ‘behind’ the scene so-to-speak, trust is essential. You have to believe that the agent is in the vendors corner and not the prospective buyer. I know this is tricky because each needs the other, but it’s important from a trust perspective to always feel that the agent is looking after you as the vendor - the agent is the only interface between both. We trusted Andrew from day 1 and to the best of our knowledge he didn’t let us down. Many of the other agents were slick and smooth, but Andrew presented and proved himself to be very genuine. He didn’t spent most of his time telling us how good he was, instead he encouraged and supported us, and in the end demonstrated how good he was.
We have used several agents over the years and he was simply outstanding. The care and attention to detail was impeccable and his understanding of market conditions was beyond reproach. It's important to have faith and trust in an agent particularly when you have an emotional attachment to your home of 35 years and you want the right person to enjoy the home as much as you have.
