Let me start by saying (sorry to real estate agents everywhere) but traditionally I’m not a fan of RE agents. I’ve had some bad experiences, been treated rudely, and been dissatisfied with a few. So the choice of someone to sell my beloved childhood home - in the family for 50 years - was always going to be really important. Bawa was recommended to me by several people, some of whom have had similar experiences with others and said Bawa was different. From our first meeting he really “got” the importance and the emotional investment in a property like this. He was sympathetic to the background issues and answered most of my questions before I had even asked them. He made it clear that he wouldn’t “chase” me while we decided on an agent, and gave a timeframe for when he would get in contact, once I’d had time to make decisions and get the property ready. And he gave me useful advice about preparing the property before I’d even made my decision. He was true to his word about not chasing or pestering me, and he also was always very responsive to my communications, getting back to me quickly and with the information I needed. He was upfront about the difficulties in valuing a very unique property, the research and consultation he’d done and what his valuation and strategy were based on. Throughout the sale process I was kept informed at every step of the way and never felt pressured or stressed. The end result was an offer happily accepted within 5 days of the property being listed.
