However, I let Ben know that this was my first purchase and that I needed step by step instructions on the process. Several times I had to email or text Ben to find out what to do next or what to do with the money and so on. Then before settlement I found out he was on leave and had asked me for a review. His job was finished but I didn't know it. My recommendation is that the agency writes a detailed list of the steps in buying a house. This list should include who does what (agent or solicitor) and when, where to put the deposit and what to do with the balance; where and when to get the key and other things that you might think that people know. I think you have all been in the business so long that you think that novices know what to do, and we don't. I'm sure that such a list would be very helpful for all buyers.
