There is certainly an abundance of Real estate agents in Sydney. And as a typical Bell curve goes, you have some really shitty ones, a heap of average ones and very few top performing ones. After listing my place with another agent and having no success, I decided the best strategy would be to do a lot of research. Rate my Agent helped me find Brendon at LJ Hooker Waterloo/ Green Square. All of the reviews were positive, respectful and successful. After meeting with Brendon I even did some reference checking with previous owners whose homes he recently sold. The checks matched the reviews. All excellent. I decided to list with Brendon and his team. They were always friendly, professional, timely, calm and on the ball. There was never a point where I felt out of the loop of what was happening with my sale or where the campaign was going. The reports Brendon prepared on a weekly basis were comforting, detailed and left no room for doubt or imagination. Needless to say that the property was sold prior to Auction. We received a good offer which was too risky to gamble in an auction scenario. We are moving to Rosebery and would have no hesitation in engaging Brendon in seeing our home in the future.

Being in sales ourselves, it was important for us to get an agent that followed through on what they said, and had a never give up attitude. With Brendon, that’s what we got. The property went to Auction, past in, but Brendon told us that the buyer for our property was just not in the market at that time. We were thinking about taking off the market but Brendon just kept on showing and bringing buyers through. 3 weeks later Brendon found us a buyer $125,000 over our highest offer at Auction. We stumbled into our zillionth open home and were blow away by the apartment, but what impressed us more was our amazing agent. Brendon was honest and full of information. He went above and beyond and told us every single detail about the home. He was easy to get along with and spoke to us in a way we understood. We are now the very proud owners of that apartment and we can't wait to move in!!
Brendon does the job he is paid to do. Don't expect much more than that but conversely don't expect any less than that. He seems to specialise in apartment sales in the Waterloo/Zetland/Redfern area judging by the listings he manages. I would definitely clarify the terms of the marketing costs before signing-up. For example, the only Letterbox drop that I saw with the cards that I had paid for in the marketing costs was done AFTER my unit had sold and even had a "SOLD" banner printed on the card - I definitely did not pay to have cards printed to promote Brendon's business ! What was worse was the $550 Auction costs which had to be paid upfront. Our apartment sold prior to Auction and when I asked Brendon for a refund of the Auction costs he advised that it was a "Booking Fee" which is non-refundable if the Auction did not proceed - what a rort ! Not Happy Brendon !!!
