I had been contemplating selling the house myself as I was somewhat doubtful that an agent would be able to increase the sale price enough to 'earn' their commission. We had an explosive reaction to the property launch and several offers after the first open, but it was really during those final negotiation stages and tedious background legalities that I decided the commission was justified.
