We attended many open houses, not so much looking at the property, but doing a job interview of the agent selling that property ,to find our agent. We attended many properties that had me chasing the agent to give my details to them, they failed, I always looked for the register to leave my details and when complete would wait for a call back, if they didn't call, they failed. This was after all a job interview. We attended a property (in October) in Mundingburra that was a wreck, out of my league and I didn't really want to even go in, but there was a lot ( really a lot) of interest so in we went. On this occasion I was literally chased down by Brett to leave my details (seemed determined). Brett called on that Tuesday and I told him we were still a long way off, after general talk he promised to call me in January (this will test his resolve) and on the 4th of January guess what........he called. We had at that time had some appraisal's and were pretty set on another agent, but Brett ended up coming around for a chat, bringing information that was relevant to our house and stayed for hours. After that we were sold, the house was still a mess but over the next couple of months and not promising him anything he stayed in touch, and importantly not in a aggressive, in your face way. he called more for a general chat and property update. He gave us a couple of contacts to use for property dressing and moving. The big day arrived, live on the market on a Wednesday, first open house on the Sunday. From memory 13 groups through, very promising with people wanting to stay and talk to him. He then called on the Monday with one offer but guided us through until Tuesday when we signed the contract. We had 6 days on the market, got more than we hoped for and more than other agents appraisals.
