My real estate career began back in 1990 in NZ. My husband and I were running a new home building business and we were constantly frustrated with the poor service we received from Real Estate agents such as lack of communication, enthusiasm, and generally ‘not listening’ This lead me to believe I must surely be able to do better, and so began Carol Dovey as local Real Estate Agent.
This is a position I have loved and excelled at from the beginning. It is more about people than houses. Without you we are nothing!
My first sale made headlines for being the highest sale ever in the city, and my second was a house that had been on the market for 2 years and hadn’t sold. The builder/owner’s wife was also a real estate agent.
And so my success began.
I worked in this company for 7 years and I am proud to say I was one of the top 10 % earners in the country.
A change in circumstances led me to move to another city where I began a 2 year stint in radio marketing and advertising, another role I feel passionate about . I then returned to Real estate with Harcourts NZ for 3 years before moving to Perth, which I love. It’s a great city, and has a lot to offer. I have lived mainly in South Perth and Mt Pleasant.
Having been involved in building 18 new houses, subdividing older larger blocks and renovating a few houses and having sold all bar one I am very well versed in the procedure and more importantly ‘how it feels to be YOU’ when involved in selling and buying real estate.
I have formed long lasting friendships with many of my former clientele.
My other passion is travel, exploring new countries and cultures and meeting people.
I have travelled extensively around Australia and NZ plus Europe, including Britain, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, Jordan, and Asia including India, Singapore, Thailand Bali ….and so on. A lot of it in camper vans as this certainly gets you into the corners and crevices of the many places I’ve visited and into the customs and culture of the wide and varied world we call ‘home’. Of course the worst experiences always make the best tales afterwards, and there are many of them. Some very hairy and dangerous ones as well, but I live to tell the tale and yearn for more. From staying in palaces to sleeping in airports, this is what I call ‘taking the blinkers off and discovering life’
“If it’s going to be, it’s up to me” has long been one of the phrases I like to live by, and I often borrow NIKE also, Just do it!
I look forward to hearing from you and hearing how I may be able to help make your aspirations come in to play.
