Recently we approached Chris Hoycard to sell a vacant block we had been holding on to, with the intent of building our home on it. Despite the block being in a fairly unfashionable, run-down, older suburb, we loved its proximity to town, the reserved land on the other side of the road and the generous block size. Unfortunately we never could quite afford to build and we eventually made the decision to sell. With real estate prices being in a slump, we knew that it could be difficult to find a buyer who would see the potential in the block that had attracted us in the first place. We never had any hesitation though in engaging John Matthews to act as our agent. The company's prominence in the market place is well known as is Chris Hoycard's reputation for professionalism. Initially Chris spoke very frankly to us about meeting the market in regard to the selling price and about local purchasing trends. Having painted a realistic picture of the market for us, she then reassured us of her team's ability to promote and sell the property. We put our faith in Chris and her hardworking team of agents and given the depressed market, were delighted to receive an offer in a relatively short period of time. The process of negotiating with the proposed buyer was handled with expertise by the team and we believe that the final price was as fair to both parties. We were kept in the loop by JMS during the whole listing period, including during the finance application and thereafter as settlement approached. Buying or selling property always involves some anxiety but JMS made it as stress free as possible.
