My partner and I recently have had the immense displeasure of buying an apartment off Chris S from the Agency, Rosebery. We were first home buyers and Chris took this as an opportunity to lie, deceive and mislead us to ensure the sale proceeded and he got his commission. We ended up massively out of pocket due to his ongoing deceit and only got to move into the apartment months after when Chris had ‘guaranteed’. At every step of the process, Chris twisted the truth and withheld crucial information that would have provided us with an understanding of what was going on. As we approached settlement, all of Chris’ actions became evident. The only option to try and resolve the issue was to make a submission to NCAT, which outlined in detail the lies and deceit we had encountered. Only after seeing the submission did he decide to 'help' us. The eventual solution still required us being thousands of dollars out of pocket and months delayed moving in. Upon chatting with one of the parties affected by the sale, we compared what Chris has been telling us and it became clear he was lying to us both, simply telling us what we wanted to hear. Chris has caused me and my partner immense financial and emotional stress during a time that should have been very exciting. As a seller, you might be thinking "Chris sounds great, I want a real estate agent that can get a sale across the line at all costs". My message to you is that I think Chris is incapable of telling the truth and acting with integrity, and there's no doubt in my mind he would lie and deceive you too just to get his commission. PS Even once we finally got to move in months after planned, and minus the thousands of dollars we lost, we didn't even get a single acknowledgement from Chris or the Agency, or anything to say congrats on buying our first property. Steer clear of Chris and the Agency Rosebery.
