Not the best experience, as for every small thing either we were denied or we had to go through our lawyer. 1) We agreed for a 2 months settlement duration as per previous owner's request as they wanted to spend Christmas in their house. But when I requested to do the settlement 2 days early as I wanted to celebrate my wife's birthday there, it was denied. I raised this request before Christmas and I don't think it was passed to the previous owners until I reminded again after New Year's eve. 2) In a previous inspection I highlighted that the backyard entrance door is stuck and not opening/closing properly, the agent said that he will get it fixed by the previous owner. I believed him and did not hold the settlement for that. But to this date it is not fixed and now there is no hope of getting it fixed by the previous owner. 3) In the pre-settlement inspection I noticed that there was a hole in the wall behind the main door I think due to door knob (which was not there before). I told the agent about it. He said that it's a small thing and he will get it fixed by the previous owner so I did not mention this to my lawyer and did not hold the settlement. And guess what, to this date it is not fixed and I had to go back to my lawyer. 4) The previous owners left some trash on kerbside. On the settlement day the agent told me that they have booked a council pick-up and it will be cleared by end of the week. First thing, it is an offence to leave trash on kerbside until 1 day prior to the council pick up, not sure why agent allowed them. Second, when I checked with the council they told me that the pick-up is for next month and they will send me a fine if it is not removed immediately as neighbours have been complaining to the council. So I had to pay a garbage removal company to remove the trash. Not hoping for any support from the agent, I have raised it to our lawyer and waiting for a resolution. One extra star is for auction process, inspections, and paperwork.
For what was a very difficult sale due to the erraticness and unprofessionalism of the buyers, Daniel and his team proved to be excellent and a great support to us during this very stressful time.
