I inherited a small unit in Subiaco from my mother and had tenants in it for many years. Having purchased a more up-market apartment elsewhere the time had come for me to sell it. A long-time tenant moved out and how tired and shabby the place looked. The thought of doing it up was daunting, but that is where Danielle Diffen stepped in. She was the agent through whom I had bought my new property and I had no hesitation in asking her to market the old one. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined the enthusiasm and ideas that she brought to rejuvenating the place. Left on my own it would have taken me months and months to find and wait for tradesmen, but Danielle had a list of reliable workers who came at her bidding and in a few short weeks the place looked amazing. Danielle and her colleague, Thea, were full of ideas regarding new curtains and other necessary items but always consulted me for approval of the expenditure and assured me they were aware they were ‘spending someone else’s money’. When home-open day approached they actually moved in items of furniture, pictures, pot plants and many other things of their own that made the place look very appealing. Danielle negotiated four offers within the next four days and achieved a price very much higher than her initial valuation, after a relatively modest expenditure on my part and many hours of activity on the part of Danielle and Thea. She had, over time, sold a number in that building so knew it very well and was able to provide a lot of information about its management and the community of residents - one of whom is her own son!
