I am so happy that I went with my gut feeling and chose David as my agent. I had done my research on local agents, including asking other locals for their view. I interviewed 2 agents and immediately felt comfortable with David and confident that he would look after my interests as a priority. I have a real estate agent in the family so am aware of some of their less attractive attributes. At all times along the journey David was respectful and helpful, without being pushy. He was helpful in my research and we had some frank discussions about how things might proceed. I am something of a control freak and he dealt well with that. I had initially been against an auction process but he won me over to do that. When one of the people helping in the preparation of the house for sale let me down, he was really helpful, stepping into the breach and at one point providing a handyman for an urgent task. I was in no state of mind to deal with it, so his calm approach was much appreciated. As it happened we did not need to go to auction. When I received a very fair offer after only 2 opens we talked it through – looking at all the possible options. At no time did I feel pressured to accept. I accepted that offer and now, 10 days later I can only feel excited that I have sold for a figure that was towards the high end of my expectations, and without a prolonged and anxious auction process. I would like to provide a short positive review for the professional services of Mr. David Buttel for Neutral Bay running for 2023 Agent of the Year of Rate My Agent. David has been my agent for the rental services for my properties since I bought the properties over 27 years ago. I enjoyed a good landlord and agent relationship even though some time we experienced some difficulties with some tenants. This year I decided to sell my last property and cash in my investment and naturally I asked David for assistance. After a discussion, we have decided to sell the townhouse through an auction arrangement. After open house inspection for a few weeks. it seems clear that no one potential bidder can be forthcoming. It seemed clear that due to the rising interest rate and other matters, I have to lower my asking price and cancel the auction arrangement. In between time, David gave me fully updated after every open house inspection. With luck and may be good services, David found me a serious buyer shortly after I lowered my asking price. Overall, the selling process was smooth and quick and I managed to sell my property to avoid further drop in market price due to high interest rate. Overall I am satisfied with David's professional services over the year. In particular, he attended personally every open house inspection and reported to me immediately. He should be given a positive review in my opinion.
