David has over 22 years’ experience in the design & building Industry with a large portion of his work being primarily focused on the residential market which has resulted in the ongoing development of a vast range of professional relationships with multi-disciplinary project teams, local authorities, certifiers, builders, contractors, consultants as well as individual home buyers assisting in the delivery of innovative and integrated built forms. During this time David has also dedicated a significant proportion of his career to the running his own design firm, Environmental Building Solutions, as well as been responsible for the curriculum development and coordination at the Canberra Institute of Technology for a number of disciplines at the school of Applied Design specifically in relation to the Associate Diploma of Architectural Drafting as well as the Advanced Diploma of Building Design programs. In addition to this he was also responsible for lecturing in both of these programs as well as the Advanced Diploma of Interior Design. David has spent the last four years being responsible for the development and implementation of a variety of building and siting as well as covenant requirements at the Springbank Rise development in Casey as the developers Design Coordinator and Covenants Officer. It is through these developer guidelines in conjunction with his ability to clearly communicate the developers’ broader objectives on a variety of levels that has greatly assisted in ensuring that purchasers’ properties reflect the vision of a desirable, attractive and inviting community. He has a strong focus towards customer service as well as an ability to be open-minded and flexible which enables him to deliver creative outcomes. He is a staunch advocate for the need to develop high quality, sustainable, accessible and innovative designs that enhance the lives of the broader community as well as reflect long term planning goals of his clients. Passionate about energy efficiency he is always willing to challenge conventional thinking, integrate smart technologies as well as a broad range of building materials for the purpose of delivering innovative solutions. He approaches each new project from a holistic perspective, grounded in sustainable values and will rigorously test concepts in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients.
