Dom Gleeson recently made the sea change to Torquay from Melbourne and has just completed construction of his first family home in Torquay. Dom understands that while it was a huge decision to uproot his family, he believes that after experiencing the local life he has no regrets.
In his previous 5 years experience in Sales and Operations, Dom demonstrated strong team values, strategic planning along with sound communication and marketing skills, which will assist him with his transition into real estate.
By way of background, he was raised on a dairy and potato farm in Koroit in South West Victoria, 20 km west of Warrnambool. From an early age, family first and a hard work ethic was instilled in him.
Married to wife Erin (School Teacher), they have a 2 year old son Sullivan and will welcome their second child in 2015. Both are very keen to raise and educate their children in Torquay and become involved in the local community.
With over 12 years extensive experience competing as a Semi-Professional footballer in the VFL. Firstly with the Werribee Football Club where he captained and achieved 2 Best and Fairest then headed to Geelong Cats Football Clubs where he achieved a 2012 Premiership then retired as captain at the end of 2014. Dom was an assistant coach at the Geelong Football Club for three seasons. He has since been appointed as the Senior Coach of the Torquay Football Club where he will look to develop the local grown talent as well as create a strong culture both on and off the field.
Dom has created strong leadership and team environment skills. He believes that being a leader within these varied sporting cultures was a privilege and was never taken for granted.
