Sold our home with a side of bad customer service

Whilst we did sell our family home and were happy with the sale price it certainly wasn't a nice experience getting there. For starters we weren't acknowledged by our names in texts and emails. Pressured into accepting offers that were presented within a day despite us explaining to Don we were waiting on our finance to come through for our next purchase, 10 business days for approval is a normal amount of time for banks. Although during this time our financial position was disclosed to a potential buyer. I was told by Don our broker is hopeless. When another offer was presented to us, Don explained to us that the buyers are very nervous and we must have the offer signed by lunchtime. My husband was in a meeting all day which I explained we would sit down and review the offer first thing when he comes home from work to which I was met with a very rude Don. He proceeded to tell me that we weren't serious in selling our home and you guys worked it out and practically hung up on me. I felt when we first signed up with Don that we were in great hands as he knows the area but it did not feel like Don was working for us or with us at all. The realestate agents who were selling the property we purchased ( who weren't even working for us) were absolutely beautiful. They hand delivered the keys and a lovely present to us and rang us to congratulate us on the sale and our finance. Unfortunately Prowest did not have this extra touch of client services. I feel like selling your family home is a huge deal and you want it to be a nice experience, for us it was not. I will mention though Don was very helpful when it came to final inspection requests.

I can't say I am surprised with this review. You reached out to me to sell your home. I explained a program that was designed to meet the time restraints you set. You willingly agreed to it as it was intended to get a result quickly as you requested. It also broke a sales price record for your home. As I explained at the time there was a very real risk of loosing your buyer if we took too long to respond. It is my job to keep you informed of what is happening and especially if there is any risks to you. I was doing what I am contracted by you to do. Initially I was told by you that that your purchase was independent of this transaction, which I later found out not to be true, and that you could not deal on the offer until you had made decisions relating to that transactions very complex financing. Had you told me about these complications from the beginning we could have held off with the launch and sold the property later once you had your purchase sorted out. This would have prevented any conflict with time lines. I apologise you did not enjoy the experience, but I worked to the time lines you set, and the parameters you laid out to achieve a record price for you, despite not being told information that would have made a vital difference. Courtesy like communication is a two way street.
