Having looked at many houses over the last months,Don was unique in his service.When we got to the home, he fist walked us through, showing us where everything was, what the vendors had done and what they were willing to do, to make the home ready for us.He then stepped aside so we could wonder around by ourselves.We made an appointment for the he next day to come back with the family.As we lived quite a distance away, he accommodated our time.He knew all about the property,answered our questions and helped make the deal.His follow up service was fantastic.We heard from him regularly with updates,was available when we wanted to come down and look at our new home,gave us contacts of services and even did the last minute check to make sure everything was in order. Don is from the old school where service is important for both the vendor and the buyer.Even knowing that he was working for the vendor and being paid by them,we felt that he had our best interests in mind.I would not hesitate in recommending Don for any assistance in the real estate market. True, honest service is a rare thing to find nowadays. I had been looking for a new home for 6 months putting in several offers on properties going above and beyond asking price only to have every agent treat my offer like a bid at an auction and put my bid into a lottery making me wait for a few days while they gather more interest and then i'm played of other buyers trying to secure the same property. Then i met Don McKenzie, a down to earth straight shooter, what you see is what you get, no games just good old fashioned service. As soon as i made an offer it was put to the Vendor, no waiting, no playing off against other buyers. I believe Don is a game changer in Hastings and nearly every other agent i have dealt with could take a very big humbling lesson from Don in the way business should be conducted.
