Part of the negotiations with the buyer was that he would pay a upfront 20% fee to secure the property that would be sent directly to me so I could put this directly against my new property. As it turns out, it never mattered how much he put down as a deposit (Could have paid in full) as the only beneficiary to this was Barry Plant holding it in their account until settlement. The other issue is that I was double charged GST on part of the account of around $2500.00. After further discussions with my solicitor, I decided not to pursue it due to the more time and grief & money it was going to cause me. Probably not what you wanted to hear Dylan, but it is exactly what happened.
