Ghosted after contract signature, never to be heard from again
Everything started out well - Elizabeth initially seemed competent and responsive, as per her other reviews, and that's why I chose her to be my selling agent. By good fortune my tenant wanted to buy my property so an offer was quickly made and accepted. Unfortunately that day is the last day I heard from Elizabeth, ever. She completely ghosted me, I didn't hear from her upon building and pest inspection clearance or finance acceptance (when the contract went unconditional and the property was officially 'sold'), when the area was potentially flooding, and not even at settlement more than a month later. Very odd behaviour, and extremely unprofessional, especially in an industry reliant on reputation and customer service. Additionally (and to me more concerningly) she also failed to follow specific marketing instructions and did not list my property, as instructed and previously agreed, over the high-visibility Christmas period to potentially secure a back-up contract should the tenant's purchase have fallen through. This left me carrying all the risk without my consent, and I cannot fathom why she didn't do her job, and why she was never heard from again - I certainly cannot recommend her as an agent as she completely failed to perform key aspects of her role. To top it all off I submitted a formal complaint to her boss, licensee of Raine & Horne Ocean Shores and Brunswick Heads Julie-Ann Manahan, and never heard back from her either...if it was my business I would have been mortified, and on the phone immediately to try to rectify the situation - Elizabeth and Julie-Ann obviously operate somewhat differently. They did technically sell the house (and therefore took their commission) but their standard of customer care was, I found, severely lacking, plus the marketing inaction, which would have left me exposed had the initial contract fallen through, bordering on negligent.
